Budgam: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday threw open the Tosamaidan meadow for public in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Mehbooba said that the meadow would be developed as eco-tourist destination.
To begin with, fifty local Kothawalas would provide the facilities to those visiting the meadow, said Mehbooba.
She vowed that the picturesque place wouldn’t be turned into a concrete jungle.
Every initiative on part of tourism department will be taken keeping in view the local economy, she said.
When locals demanded a separate Development Authority for the meadow, Mehbooba replied: Yes, there will be an independent development authority for Tosamaidan.
